We just got back from a week in Quepos and 3 days of fishing with Chris. Seth was able to realize his dream of catching a sailfish…and he let me reel one in too! We could not have asked for a better captain than Chris. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and works hard to find the fish. Hopefully we will be back next year (maybe sooner!) and will be able to fish with Chris again.

Went on vaction in January to Quepos. I chartered a fishing trip With capt. Chris. I had told Chris that I was only interested in catching a rooster fish and didn’t want to go off shore. Chris stated that it shouldn’t be a problem to get one. I have gone Costa Rica three times before to different areas, and was unable to catch a rooster fish. On the 16 th of January 2008 I met Chris at his boat and we proceded to do some inshore fishing for reooster fish. One good thingis that to get on his boat they had docks there. The other places I went to you had to walk to the boats in the water. Well we started out close to shore. I had told Chris that if I caught a nice Rooster . we are heading in early. About a hour after being out there we got a bite. From there on for about 3\4 of a hour fighting a nice size roosterfish. Finally after getting the fish in the boat it was indeed a nice rooster. It was 58 inches long and weigh about 60 pounds. Needless to say it made my trip to Quepos a lasting memory. We were heading in after that catch in about 2hrs. I want to thank Chris for being a great Capt. and knowing the spots for good fishing. If I get back to Quepos, I will charter Chris’s boat again.

Just got home from a week in Costa Rica. The day started off with Chris picking up my friend and I from the dock where Chris keeps his boat in the water full time. Made the 35 mile run out to the fishing grounds in just over an hour on flat calm seas. We reached the grounds about an hour to two hours before any other boats due to the twin outboards. Chris started to make bait and troll live bonito. Righ away we were bit and missed a sailfish. About 30 minutes later the first fish of the day, a nice bull dorado. Throughout the day Chris was very busy making bait, changin bait, rigging bait, cleaning the boat, moving rods, looking for fish. Chris works by himself and has down what he needs to do to catch fish. Through out the day we raised between 10 and 12 sailfish and landed 3. Chris lets his clients do everything or he will do everything for you. I have fished with other charters around the world and Chris is one of the hardest working. He stayed out way later than he should have and got my friend Mike a picture of his sailfish. I cant wait to get back to Costa Rica and fish with him again.

My wife and I (I had been to CR twice, she once) were responsible for booking a fishing trip for ourselves and two other couples who had never been to CR before and one couple had never been sportfishing before. As I was trolling the web for help, the first email and phone call I received was from Chris. I immediately knew that Chris himself was a fisherman and cared about the quality of our trip. Since we were six people, we could not fish with Chris, but he put us on the 46′ Caribsea, with the excellent Capt. Orlando and hardworking mates, Coco and Joseph. In two full days of fishing, we raised 12 sails, landing nine, and caught two keepers of dorado (bull dolphin) including my last fish of the trip which weighed in at 56lbs and took me an hour and a half to land. On the first day, my friend who I learned had never even wet a spinning rod for bass before, scored two huge sails himself. Needless to say, he is now “hooked” on fishing. Chris was there to greet us each day at the dock, expressing his concern for how well pleased we were. He took care of our commuter flights from San Jose to Quepos and back and offered us extrodinary lodging oppurtunites. My wife, friends, and I are considering making this an annual vacation, and I am already telling good friends to rely on Chris to make their CR fishing dreams come true.
    Tight Lines!
